You know the problem.

Education was the light at the end of the tunnel for our ancestors. It inspired and directed us to success. However, today, education resembles incarceration.

More and more governments are following Florida's lead to pass legislation banning lesson plans that will make a "white child uncomfortable or feel guilty about their race."

It directs our children to defer to white students, pander to their parents, and serve white interests - at the expense of our own.

We're calling on an organizing mantra from back in the day - "Each one teach one" to help us meet this current crisis. Given the urgency and technology, we've modified it a bit to become Each One Teach Ten (EOTT). EOTT combines new technology - online digital courses with old-fashioned "touches" - human presence & conversation - to create a new answer to an old problem - academic success.

It is an opportunity for AYA to expand on our success. For 27 years, we have successfully nurtured an African-Centered identity by curriculum and methodology to stimulate academic rigor and social responsibility to the Black community and the world - in that order

It's an opportunity for you to be a part of the solution where your presence, guidance, love, wisdom, and excitement provide the roots that give them wings.

AYA Education Collaborator

Circle

Host AYA's proven courses with cohorts up to ten Black students. Here's the tech: We've digitized our proven courses, so your cohort can access them through and get feeback via your web-based digital platform, which we provide. No coding, no technical skills. The recuitment and course management emails are already provided. Course grading and feedback? We got that, too. It's like "Education in a Circle" - an Each One Teach Ten Circle.

But, tech, content, and convience aren't enough, each course is wrapped in a culture, family, and community. This is especially needed because we're asking the students to go against the anti-African grain.

We want them to embrace their Africanness and academic excellence - when both are under attack. That's where you come in - they need support. They need community that expects the best of them and supports them in attaining it.

Your cohort of students you gather don't sign into a digital course. They join a community of others also enrolled nationally and internationly. Inside that cirle is another - those who support them directly online and off. These circles love our people, are excited about the course material, and student success - applying what they learn to themselves, their families, and our people.

Your Educational Collaborator circle starts with you, your group or organization. You invite the students, then the family in the roles of academic supporters. Through TAW training they become support specialists. The EOTT circle becomes a blend of high tech and high touch that leads to academic and social success.

"The AYA Way" TRAINING (TAWT) for Support

Another part of AYA's success is what Co-Director Mama Afiya calls "The AYA Way." It's a unique blend of educational psychology, Afrikan culture, and storytelling—from the inside out. Throw in Co-Director Baba Wekesa' ever-expanding Warriors, Healers and Builder's technology and there you have it - The AYA Way.

Confused?

You should be. The AYA Way has to be experienced and applied. It's a skillset and a mindset. We provide training for each Education Collaborator Circle.

Eeach Circle gathers, one, two, or more supporters who will become "TAWT" support specialists. Every month we train them and support them to motivate and help the students to complete the course and get the most out of it.

The support specialsts become a grounding force for our children who are taught lies daily, and who face overt and subtle oppression from society and from school.

Seven Courses

In 2025-2026, we are rolling out a new course, roughly every four to six weeks. Every month we hold support training and support options pegged for each class. TAW support specialsts get stronger each month.

By the end of the school year, each Educational Collaborator can offer all seven courses to their cohorts. Students and their parents mix and match courses after each period.

Because each course stresses another aspect of TAWT, over the span of cources, support specialists learn tested options for supporting each other and each student to academic success.

#1: The Gullah and Black Seminoles 100-Year War

#2: Following "Araminta" Harriet Tubman US History 1822 - 1913

#3: Melanin Healing Science

#4: The Economic Conundrum: Tulsa's Black Wall Street

#5: The Family-Lore Project

#6: Sanfoka Math

#7: Story Healing Power

TAWT Certification

Optional. Advanced.

For those seeking AYA Certification, the 7-Course TAW support specialist training is the starting path. Each course has been chosen to emphasize key aspects of "The AYA Way." You become skilled at them by successfully completing the course yourself, and applying TAWT tools and processes in support of those in the EOTT Circle - students, family, and other support volunteers.

That is followed by our WHB evaluations and training or re-training.

This includes us giving you a topic and you shaping a course and cohort where you use the WHB tool set to design the course and implement support to get students successfully through.

Once you declare your intention to seek certification, the monthly meetings shift accordingly and we'll start your journey to become AYA "TAWT" certified.

Large Call to Action Headline

Grounding!

For Baba John Henrik Clarke, one of his "foundational" teachers was Ms. Evelina Taylor. For Mama Afiya, it was Mr. Charles Cooper, Sr. and Mr. Jackson. For Baba Wekesa, it was Mr. Trim, Mrs. Fannie Jenkins, and Nana Asa Hilliard.

It wasn't the subject they were teaching; it's what they gave us that helped us navigate the rough waters of education, of life and even more overt oppression.

"I got you," She said. "You can do this!"

He said, "They may not like you, but they will respect you!,"

"If you see a "good fight" for our people, get in it," she said.

Did you have a grounding or "foundational" teacher or supporter that helped see you through education's rough waters. If not, do you wish you would have had one?

No, better than that, remember or imagine a grounding teacher - giving you a lesson or that look, a shoulder or pat on the back. Slow it down. Let's really go there - see it, hear it, feel it. Thank you.

We want you, should you choose to join us as education collaborators, to bring those foundational grounding educators forward to support the students getting through the current obstacles to their highest learning and applied skill development. The AYA Way Training (TAWT) can help you become their "Evelina Taylor," Asa Hilliard, or Baba Clarke.

With support, your students can flip this miseducational onslaught. We've done it before under more overtly hostile conditions. It's that time again. They need our guidance.

With AYA courses, the community and TAW support specialists, our students will learn the truth and get support to develop their needed capacity for power!

MAYBE THIS SOUNDs FAMILIAR

TO YOU AS WELL?

  • "Young people often struggle to stick to challenging routines." You’re right. Many face challenges in overcoming years of low academic expectations and high dependency on those who require that we shrink or disappear.

  • "I find it hard to stay motivated or to keep students motivated." Consistency can be tough, but small steps combined with community and clear purpose lead to lasting change.

  • "I get confused by technical and often conflicting educational advice like IEPs, different learning styles, academic wounds, anti DEI, etc."

  • Given the current educational rough waters which Nana Asa Hilliard might call "Trouble", it’s normal to feel overwhelmed.

  • Simplified tools, challenging practical applications, and a safe place to ask questions and grow can make all the difference.

  • I'm feeling skeptical because I'm not a teacher." No worries. You don't have to "teach;" in the formal sense.

  • Course content, quizzes, answers, activities, etc. are already there. What's missing? Student questions, emotions, interpretations, associations, etc.

  • Also, what's missing is you - your questions, course discoveries, authenticity, experience, knowledge, love for them and our people.

  • Educational collaborators and TAW Support Specialists get a "Teacher's" edition and a path to complete the modules ahead of time.

  • Combine that with the monthly TAW training with others from local, national and international collaborations and you'll be fine.

Why Each one teach Ten -
A Deeper Dive

  • According to UCLA's CRT Forward Tracking Project, by late 2024 200 localities had taken up anti-CRT measures.

  • These ranged from bans of "divisive concepts" to reporting mechanism for teacher violation, to mandatory parental notification schemes.

  • Black students and teachers are afraid, and there has been a documented drop in instruction on Black history and civil rights.

The provisions for enforcement include:

  • Loss of state funding

  • Suspension or revocation of teaching licenses

  • Loss of Parental rights to file complaints or lawsuits

  • Accreditation penalties for non-compliant schools

  • In Jan. 2025, a new federal executive order characterized k-12 education framing white people as oppressors must be banned in favor of "patriotic education" or risk losing federal funding.

  • Since 2021, 44 States have seen bills, executive orders or similar guidlines.

  • At least 24 states have enacted some form of ban or restrictions on Black children learning our true history regarding race in America.

  • Hundreds of school districts have passed similar bans, board policies or resolutions to that end.

  • While we rightly protest and push back at this anti-Black sentiment, time is still flying. Our children are being subjected to racism - the likes of which most of us have not experienced in our life times. The increase of Karens, KKK, Skin-Heads, Proud Boys, are enough for alarm.

  • However, the deepest threat is the growing national, state and local legislation following a Florida initiative, prohibiting education that "will make a white child feel "uncomfortable," and "banning lesson plans that make people feel guilty about their race."

  • This movement in k-12 and university requires that a Black child academically step into the gutter to let a white child pass on the sidewalk. That is: while learning math, science, history, art, etc.

  • Black children are being taught to defer to white children's needs and preferences and to supress their own and our people's needs. Unchecked, this deference will become "normal."

  • The alien narrative will become the authoritative truth, and our insistence on "race" will become the problem. Through alien eyes, our children see our pro-African actions as the problem - standing in the way of "progress."

  • If we allow our children to be turned into what AyiKwei calls "zombie askari", alienated from our highest aspirations, our culture, our history, our ancestors and us, and zombies for European domination, then our retreat - in the names of better jobs, education, influence - will have morphed into surrender.

  • If we surrender them to become alienated to serve aliens, as Dr. Amos Wilson calls it, they "are liable to forget all about us." And they should!

  • If we are to be remembered and are to continue, we need to tie our children closer to us while instilling academic rigor. The Each One Teach Ten Circles provide a way.
